TOPICAL SOAPBOX

QUEEN'S FOR GAY RIGHTS!

Living in Sydney you get used to hearing queens speak up for gay rights and equality.
What you don't see often is the Queen herself speaking up for the very same thing.
But Her Majesty plans to do just that in her own indirect queenly manner.
On Commonwealth Day Her Maj will sign a paper that fiercely opposes discrimination which in a round about way covers Homosexual rights. Is this as historic and important as the buzz suggests? Probably Not.

POLITICS

I'm always amazed at how stupid the Australian public is when it comes to voting for a leader of this country. It seems we listen to the media instead of doing the simple task of reading or obtaining information for ourselves.
But are we gullible enough to vote for a leader who will be our very own George W Bush? The man even Americans were embarrassed about.
Whilst I am not a believer of everything Julia Gillard has done, it's her job to be Prime Minister, however she got it or whether you think she should have it so let her do it. You can have your say on election day. This constant scrutiny is what will kill this country, not the woman doing a job under unacceptable levels of degrading criticism.
Give the people who are in the jobs a go and back off. How would you handle that sort of pressure in your jobs?

CONCLAVE

A bunch of pedophiles are voting for a new enabler. Next!

SCHAPELLE CORBY

I'm not one to agree with Julie Bishop very often, but I must say she is right to question how Australia can guarantee anything to support Corby's parole. It seems a very strange thing to say for a convicted drug mule. I wouldn't even guarantee the behaviour of myself overseas let alone someone like this woman. I think Bob Carr should be instead looking into Ms Corby's request to see if her boogy board has turned up yet.

SHOCKING STORIES and NO SURPRISE STORIES

SHOCKING
1. A GIANT SNAIL IS KILLED IN BRISBANE AS A SECURITY THREAT
(It should have been sent to Christmas Island)
2. BINDI IRWIN FINDS LOVE IN NEW MOVIE
(after seeing the last one I'm shocked she got asked back)
3. EIGHT YEAR OLD BOY MARRIES IN SOUTH AFRICA
(The bride being 61 doesn't shock me, but the boy didn't wear white! hmmm)

NO SURPRISE
1. TWO WOMEN BRAWL ON A TRANSPERTH BUS
(If you have lived in Perth you get used to this stuff)
2. EDDIE OBEID UP ON CORRUPTION CHARGES
(Enough said)
3. GILLARD CALLED TO STEP DOWN
(The Daily Gillard Bashing)

I shall now step down off the soapbox.
